NGO's

On wednesday, we had tea with the representatives from the British NGO's in the area. I expressed my interest in the current water/santitation crisis and informed them that i was currently working with Wine To Water to research a new site for a possible well project. The two NGO's that impressed me the most were WaterAID and Concern Universal. They gave me their contact information and I hope to set up some meetings with them over the next week or so.

On thursday, I went out to a Lebanese restaurant and decided to try some new foods. I ate Soujouk, which is a dry, cured sausage with lots of spices in some sort of gravy and pita bread. It was actually quite good. I was also able to reaffirm my disliking for hummus. I did, however, eat some fresh pineapple with an orange glaze on it. Yes, mom, your son is trying fruits..crazy!

Fun fact: I've been drinking a lot of Bitter Lemon. It is pretty much Tonic Water flavored with lemon juice and rind. The best part though is that it contains Quinine which is an anti-malarial agent. So apart from tasting good, it also helps to protect you!

I will be traveling up north this weekend so I will be out of contact for the next couple of days..hope the weather starts to warm up for all you boonies.

Soujouk

Fries, or Chips, seem to be pretty much universal
